MENS GOLF
Our men’s section offer a variety of weekday and weekend swindle groups – all of which are very welcoming to new members.
We regularly play both friendly matches and competitions against our neighbouring clubs, giving an opportunity to represent the club at different levels and enjoy the hospitality offered and meeting fellow golfers.
Tenterden Golf has always been, and continues to be a very friendly club, and has such a strong membership across all sections. This, along with a buzzing schedule of social and competitive events, means it is a thriving club for any player.
MENS CAPTAIN
Kevin Steele
“ It is an honour and privilege to be selected as Club Captain for 2024. Many thanks must go to the previous Captain Glyn Moore, who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to promote and welcome members and guests to this friendly and beautiful club in the weald of Kent. If you do take the time to visit our club, you will find a warm welcome, from our dedicated professional staff, that will hopefully make your day special. I have served on various committees, and can honestly say that all the staff and committee members who give their precious time, are working hard to provide the best for everyone. Special mention should go to the greenkeepers, for which the last couple of years have been very difficult. Bad weather has meant the club has had to invest in the course, and we are now hopefully seeing the benefits. I would also like to introduce the Ladies Captain Fatima Brown, her Vice Captain CJ Willey, along with Tony Smith, Seniors Captain, and Keith Steele my nominated Vice Captain. My nominated charity is Cancer Research, Fatima’s is Delmelza and Tony’s is MacMillan. We shall all be working hard to raise money for each charity over the coming year. At Tenterden we have many swindle groups, which are open to anyone, this offers the chance to play and mix , and is a great way to introduce new members and to make new friends. These are a valuable asset that provide income to the club in winter months when visitor levels are lower, and often are an introduction to play in various league matches and friendlies. We also have a full program of golf events, with regular club competitions, but also offer the chance to play social golf with friends. We also enjoy some social events, quizzes are a very popular evening, and with the new balcony, are able to offer a great venue for a bbq. The club is progressing in a positive way, new developments are planned, but of course budgets have to be respected, I am always open to any new ideas, and am always available to answer any questions if I can. I wish everyone a great year both on and off the course, and look forward to seeing members, new and old, putting out for a birdie.”
